Teaching Model Medical students will perform blood pressure, weight and blood glucose screening and provide counseling as necessary. If needed, preclinical students will partner with clinical students on an HPI and a basic physical exam. Pre-clinical students should take the lead. Students then present the case to the volunteer provider. Together, they discuss a plan with the client and counsel the client on next steps. Referrals - Undergraduate and/or medical students serve as referral coordinators for clients Interpreters - UW Undergraduates are available as needed.

WEAR YOUR NAME TAG AND BRING YOUR STETHOSCOPE AND OTHER PHYSICAL EXAM SUPPLIES. Extra medical equipment is available for those that don’t have any.
ATTIRE: “clinic attire”, but a white coat is not necessary. Be aware that the temperature in clinic is the same as the outside air, so be sure to dress warmly when the air outside is cold.

Take initiative (eg: go over to the main area when slow and push your Spanish speaking abilities)
